The School of the Woods Wildcats posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They skirted past Cornerstone Christian Academy 36-33. For School of the Woods, this counts as revenge for the 74-68 defeat Cornerstone Christian Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead School of the Woods to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adam Zagaar, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kieran Knight, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Despite the defeat, Cornerstone Christian Academy had strong showings from Shayne Cox, who scored 16 points along with three steals, and Mark Konderla, who scored 11 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Konderla has scored all season.
School of the Woods' victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-14. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. School of the Woods won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Annapolis Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on January 20th. Hopefully Annapolis Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tribe W at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
