The Overbrook Panthers will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Maritime Academy Charter Seadogs at 3:15 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Overbrook and nine for the Seadogs.
Overbrook pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 66-58 to West Philadelphia. Overbrook has struggled against the Speedboys recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Overbrook might have lost, but man, Omar Davis was a machine: he scored 25 points along with six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nasir Kelly, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Maritime Academy Charter ended up a good deal behind the Griffin on Wednesday and lost 70-51.
Overbrook has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for Maritime Academy Charter, they dropped their record down to 2-15 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
Overbrook ended up a good deal behind the Seadogs in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, losing 81-67. Can Overbrook avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
