After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Spring Grove, the Mabel-Canton Cougars were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 76-65 victory over Schaeffer Academy. Mabel-Canton's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Mabel-Canton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyler Larson, who went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 3 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Larson has scored all season. Riley Snell was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
The win got Mabel-Canton back to even at 11-11. As for Schaeffer Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-12.
Mabel-Canton will take on Fillmore Central at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Schaeffer Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-54 defeat vs. Houston on the 12th.
