Mercedes has gone a perfect 10-0 against Edcouch-Elsa recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mercedes Tigers will be playing at home against the Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Mercedes: 2.9, Edcouch-Elsa: 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Aleeyah Sierra was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Mercedes let Abigail Trevi?o and Elise Perez run wild. Trevi?o went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles, while Perez went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those RBI were Trevi?o's first of the season. Kristine Garcia was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Mercedes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Edcouch-Elsa has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.27 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to Harlingen South. The Yellowjackets haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Having lost for the first time this season, Edcouch-Elsa fell to 10-1. As for Mercedes, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Everything went Mercedes' way against Edcouch-Elsa when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Mercedes made off with a 10-0 win. Does Mercedes have another victory up their sleeve, or will Edcouch-Elsa turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
