The Whitehall Zephyrs entered their tilt with the Delaware County Christian Knights with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Whitehall walked away with a 66-56 victory over Delaware County Christian on Friday. Given Whitehall's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Delaware County Christian is ranked 271st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Delaware County Christian still got an impressive performance from Khamai Orange, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The match was Orange's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Beau Lyren, who scored 12 points.
Whitehall's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-2. As for Delaware County Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whitehall will square off against Pocono Mountain East at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pocono Mountain East is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Delaware County Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Bristol at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bristol will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
