The Herron Achaeans and the Waldron Mohawks will face off at 11:00 a.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Herron is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 57-27, which was the final score in Herron's tilt against Horizon Christian on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Herron can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 416th, while Horizon Christian is ranked 192nd).
Meanwhile, Waldron waltzed into their game last Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 57-40 win over Southwestern. That looming 57-40 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Waldron yet this season.
Waldron got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Parker Douglas out in front who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Lucas Shaw was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Herron's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Waldron, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
