It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Neptune had no problem doing just that on Friday. They snuck past the Red Bank Regional Bucs with a 55-50 win. Winning may never get old, but the Scarlet Fliers sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Neptune to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bre Evans, who posted 14 points and three steals. Evans is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Tyeera Howard, who shot 40% from the field to rack up 20 points and seven boards.
Neptune pushed their record up to 18-11 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points over those games. As for Red Bank Regional, they moved to 13-8 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
As of now, neither Neptune nor Red Bank Regional have any future games scheduled.
