After a string of six wins, the Myrtle Point Bobcats's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. The matchup between them and New Hope Christian wasn't particularly close, with Myrtle Point falling 45-28. Myrtle Point was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as New Hope Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
New Hope Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Avarly Barnett led the charge by scoring 24 points along with five steals and two blocks. Barnett is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least five every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Zumhofe, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Myrtle Point's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for New Hope Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-2.
Myrtle Point does not have any more games scheduled as of now. New Hope Christian also has no future games currently scheduled.
