Basketball Recap: East Carter Extends Winning Streak to Three

East Carter entered their tilt with West Carter on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They rang in the new year with a 51-39 victory over the West Carter Comets. The Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Comets, too.

East Carter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Savannah Adams led the charge by putting up 16 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Rudd, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 14 points.

East Carter's record now sits at 8-6. As for West Carter, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

East Carter will welcome Russell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Carter is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season. As for West Carter, they will venture away from home to take on Bracken County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
