The Woodland Wolves will venture away from home to  square off against the Destiny Christian Academy Lions  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Woodland is headed in fresh off scoring the most  runs they have   all season. Everything went their way against Natomas on Tuesday as they made off with  a  17-1 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest  win of the  season.
 Taylin Gill made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   keeping things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. What's more,  she posted five  strikeouts, the most she's  had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Izzy Loesch was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and one  double. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in April of 2024.  Sofia Sanchez was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
 Woodland  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .667. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
 Meanwhile, Destiny Christian Academy entered their tilt with Dixon on Tuesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Rams  a   14-0 shutout. Give the Lions' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.
 Destiny Christian Academy's victory was  their fourth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 7-1. The  road  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Woodland, their  victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-11.
