The West Vikings will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Chavez Titans at 3:00 p.m. on December 28th. West has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
West pushed their score all the way to 55 last Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 67-55 to Washington Union.
West's defeat came about despite a quality game from Fred Stokes, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. The match was Stokes' ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaiyon Dixon, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Chavez's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 60-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mission Oak. The match was a 31-31 toss-up at halftime, but Chavez was outscored by Mission Oak in the second.
West has fallen quite a ways from their 21-9 record last season and are now at 2-7. As for Chavez, they have also fallen quite a ways from their 21-8 record last season and are now at 3-9.
West came up short against Chavez in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 66-60. Can West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
