Greene County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Pass Christian Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Greene County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
Last Friday, Greene County lost to Bay at home by a decisive 47-29 margin. While losing is never fun, Greene County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Bay is ranked 42nd).
Despite the loss, Greene County had strong showings from Rakhiya Moody, who scored eight points along with three steals, and Saniah McCormick, who scored six points. Moody has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Pass Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 34-27 to Bay.
Greene County now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Pass Christian, they now have a losing record at 11-12.
Greene County couldn't quite finish off Pass Christian when the teams last played two weeks ago and fell 52-49. Can Greene County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
