Basketball Recap: Xavier Educational Academy Wins Going Away Against Bigtyme Prep Academy

On Friday, everything went Xavier Educational Academy's way against the BigTyme Prep Academy Bears as Xavier Educational Academy made off with a 74-54 win. Xavier Educational Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zion Ibekwe, who posted 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The contest was Ibekwe's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Stewart, who earned 15 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Xavier Educational Academy and bumps their season record up to 10-1. As for BigTyme Prep Academy, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Xavier Educational Academy will challenge St. John's at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. BigTyme Prep Academy has already played their next game (against Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
