Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Defeat Ends Duluth's Winning Streak

Duluth lost against Norcross back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wildcats fell 9-6 to the Blue Devils. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Kaileb Watts was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. He has become a key player for Duluth: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-14 otherwise.

Duluth's loss dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Norcross, their record is now 9-19.

Looking ahead, Norcross will take on Lanier at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Longhorns have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.44 runs per game on average), something the Blue Devils will no doubt try to take advantage of. Duluth will be paying especially close attention to Norcross' matchup: after Norcross faces off against Lanier, they'll take on Duluth again at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
