The Braxton County Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Frankfort Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Braxton County has given up an average of 13.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Things were looking good for Braxton County after they put the first run on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 11-3 to Nitro. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Landon Mays and Luke Kelly did some serious damage despite the final result: Mays went 3-for-4 with one run and one double, while Kelly went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one run.
Meanwhile, Frankfort came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Yellow Jackets a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Falcons have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Lanson Orndorff made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jaxon Hare and Blake Jacobs did most of the damage at the plate: Hare got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Jacobs got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Jacobs has posted since back in April of 2025. Cole Shanholtz was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Frankfort hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matchups.
Frankfort's record now sits at 19-7. As for Braxton County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-21.
