The Lee's Summit Tigers will face off against the Staley Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lee's Summit has three straight victories, Staley has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Lee's Summit and Raymore-Peculiar had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Tigers strolled past the Panthers with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 31-14.

Lee's Summit relied on the efforts of Karsten Fiene, who rushed for 268 yards and three scores while picking up 14.9 yards per carry, and Drew Benassi, who rushed for 153 yards and one TD while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Those 153 rushing yards gave Benassi a new career-high.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lee's Summit was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 449 rushing yards. They are 3-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Lee's Summit didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Marz Guein.
Meanwhile, Staley played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Lee's Summit West, falling 42-16. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Lee's Summit will have to contain Luke Bontrager as he made an impact in Staley's last game. He picked up 127 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Connor Jones was another key player, having thrown for 251 yards and two touchdowns.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Staley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Lee's Summit has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 225 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Staley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 157 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Lee's Summit against Staley in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 63-28 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Falcons' Draivyn Colvin, who rushed for 198 yards and one score while picking up 9.0 yards per carry, and also caught one TD. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Tigers still be able to contain Colvin? There's only one way to find out.
