Kecoughtan is 1-9 against Bethel since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Warriors will host the Bruins at 4:30 p.m. Kecoughtan has given up an average of 9.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Kecoughtan is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They came up short against Menchville, falling 14-2. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 13, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Henry Hampton was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bethel). They blew past Phoebus 11-1 on Thursday. The Bruins not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 7, 2024 (when they won 14-2).
Conner Lamb made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). He is becoming a predictor of Bethel's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 4-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Lamb was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Josh Flicek was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kam Bressett, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Bethel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Bethel is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Kecoughtan, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
Kecoughtan came up short against Bethel in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 6-1. Will the Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
