The Cameron Dragons's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Doddridge County Bulldogs at 2:00 p.m. on February 7th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard on Wednesday.
In what's become a running theme this season, Cameron gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. Everything went their way against Notre Dame as Cameron made off with a 70-47 victory. The victory was all the more spectacular given Cameron's disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 497th, while the Fighting Irish are ranked 88th).
Meanwhile, Doddridge County waltzed into their matchup on Friday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They enjoyed a cozy 76-57 win over Braxton County.
Doddridge County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Landon Thomas, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Thomas scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Hileman, who scored 25 points.
Cameron is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Doddridge County, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.
Everything came up roses for Cameron against the Bulldogs in their previous matchup back in January of 2022 as the team secured a 81-27 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cameron since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
