Mission recap September 4, 2013
Serra was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in Mission. The Cavaliers beat Desert Ridge 28-22 earlier in the week.
Harvard-Westlake moved up to 129 from 298 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Wolverines climbed the ranks as a result of beating Loyola 27-21.
Serra's dynamic duo of Jalen Greene and Adoree' Jackson proved tough for the Jaguars to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Greene threw for 182 yards and 4 touchdowns and Jackson had 119 yards receiving. Jordan Lasley helped Serra's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 58 yards.
Scott Altenberg's team's dynamic duo of Greene and Jackson proved to be unstoppable against Desert Ridge, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Jackson was the best wideout in the league this week as the Cavaliers defeated Jeremy Hathcock's team.
Greene put up the best numbers through the air as Serra beat the Jaguars.
Marshal Cohen was the best running back in Mission this week. In 32 carries, he ran for 121 yards as Harvard-Westlake bested Desert Ridge. Teammate Garrett Robinson added to the ground attack by rushing for 83 yards.
Serra's Greene and Jackson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Greene has thrown for 182 yards this season, while Jackson, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 4 catches for 119 yards. Scot Ruggles' team's Cohen leads the league in rushing yards with 121.
The Wolverines and the Cubs played the most contested game in the league this week, with the Wolverines eventually emerging with a 27-21 victory. Cohen threw for 92 yards in the win.
