US AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - the Eagles had a big 28-point first quarter on Saturday, sealing a 42-0 victory over Air Academy (US Air Force Academy, Colo.).
Pine Creek scored on a
Tommy Lazzaro touchdown pass to
Jack Lydiatt, a touchdown run by Lazzaro, a touchdown pass by Lazzaro to
James Fisher and a Lazzaro touchdown pass to
Austin Meachum in the quarter.
The lead that PC took on a touchdown pass by Lazzaro to Lydiatt with 7:00 remaining in the first quarter stood up for the duration of the game, as neither team managed to score in the second half.
With the win the Colorado Springs school extended its winning streak to six games. Pine Creek defeated Ponderosa 42-7 last week.
Lazzaro played well for the Eagles in the victory. The junior quarterback threw three touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
Pine Creek went into the matchup giving up only 15.4 points per game. Air Academy's zero points were right around their season average of 2.9 per game.
A 42-0 Pine Creek victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
Air Academy (0-9) will play a 4A Pikes Peak game against Liberty next week, while Pine Creek (7-2) will take on Rampart also in a 4A Pikes Peak game.
