Richland Center is 1-9 against Platteville since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Hornets will venture away from home to face off against the Hillmen at 5:00 p.m. Platteville took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Richland Center, who comes in off a win.
Richland Center will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Dodgeville, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Hornets had just enough and edged out the Dodgers 1-0 on Friday.

The result came thanks to Kyree Fischer's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 18 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Richland Center saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ebony McCorkle, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was McCorkle's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Platteville fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Lancaster on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Flying Arrows by a score of 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Kennedy Shea spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks.
Richland Center is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Platteville, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-12.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Richland Center has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Platteville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Richland Center beat Platteville 4-0 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
