Meanwhile, Valders hadn't done well against Brillion recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Austin Ebert made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over 5.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter Valleskey, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Valders is 3-1 when Valleskey posts two or more runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jack Wendling, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.
