Scott's Branch is 8-2 against East Clarendon since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Scott's Branch Eagles just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the East Clarendon Wolverines at 8:00 p.m. on February 9th. Scott's Branch has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Scott's Branch scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They really took it to Hemingway for the full four quarters, racking up a 89-59 victory at home. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Scott's Branch's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Kind, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kind has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nigel Lawson, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, East Clarendon earned a 46-39 win over Hemingway on Tuesday. The win was just what East Clarendon needed coming off of a 58-36 defeat in their prior matchup.
Scott's Branch pushed their record up to 9-10 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for East Clarendon, their win ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-16.
Scott's Branch beat East Clarendon 44-36 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Scott's Branch since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
