While Wake Prep Academy's victory against American Leadership Academy-Johnston wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wake Prep Academy Guardians came out on top in a nail-biter against the American Leadership Academy-Johnston Patriots on Thursday, sneaking past 6-5. The win continues a trend for the Guardians in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won three in a row.

Lexi Chambers made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits. Chambers was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emmy Kirby, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. Those RBI marked the first that she brought in this season. Ava Nowoc was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Wake Prep Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in three consecutive matchups.

Wake Prep Academy's record is now 2-3. As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wake Prep Academy will venture away from home to take on Neuse Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Wake Prep Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season. As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, they will head out on the road to face off against Grace Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grace Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something American Leadership Academy-Johnston surely won't give up without a fight.
