The Rhodes Rams are taking a road trip to take on the Clearview Clippers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Rhodes is headed out to face Clearview after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Rhodes had just enough and edged out Brooklyn 11-10. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row dating back to last season.
Luis Correa made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Roberto Benitez and Luis Vasquez did most of the damage at the plate: Benitez scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Vasquez scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Vasquez has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesus Cardenas, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Rhodes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brooklyn only posted an OBP of .405.
Meanwhile, Clearview made easy work of Bedford on Saturday and carried off a 16-6 victory.
Like Rhodes, Clearview also got a great game from a two-way player: Sean Mettler. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Mettler was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Clearview let Thomas Torres and Nathan Bristor run wild. Torres got on base in all four of his plate appearances with six RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Bristor scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Xavier Rivera, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5.
Rhodes took their win against Clearview in their previous meeting back in April of 2019 by a conclusive 16-10. Does Rhodes have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clearview turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
