The North Forney Falcons struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Rockwall-Heath Hawks had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. North Forney was the victim of a tough 67-45 defeat at the hands of Rockwall-Heath. While losing is never fun, North Forney can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 489th, while Rockwall-Heath is ranked 80th).
Despite the defeat, North Forney had strong showings from Zach Thompson, who scored ten points along with five rebounds, and Kei'von Johnson, who scored 12 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Thaddeus Cockrell, who scored four points along with eight rebounds.
Jackson Sanders had a dynamite game for Rockwall-Heath, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sanders has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kaiden Adams, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
North Forney has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-19 record this season. As for Rockwall-Heath, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 22-9.
North Forney will look to defend their home court on Friday against Horn at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully North Forney focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday. As for Rockwall-Heath, they will head out on the road to square off against Rockwall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rockwall is coming into the matchup with six straight victories at home, so Rockwall-Heath is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
