San Marcos extended their postseason success on Saturday against Edinburg. They breezed past the Bobcats to the tune of 33-3. The Rattlers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by 20 points or more this season.
San Marcos got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Lampkin out in front who picked up 183 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Those two receiving touchdowns gave Lampkin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Tardy, who rushed for 113 yards and one TD.
The win (which was San Marcos' third in a row) raised their record to 8-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.7 points over those games. As for Edinburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Coming up, San Marcos will be playing at home against Vandegrift at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Vipers' defense has only allowed 14.4 points per game this season, so the Rattlers' offense will have their work cut out for them. Edinburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
