A Season-Best Performance from Mitchell Labrado Leads Laguna Creek over Elk Grove
On Friday, Laguna Creek had to settle for second even though Mitchell Labrado put up the best numbers he has all season. Labrado threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 38 yards. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in September of 2023. His passing game has become a key predictor of Laguna Creek's success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise.

Jacob Beals produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Pleasant Grove to the win on Friday. Beals picked up 162 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He has become a key player for Pleasant Grove: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.
Unfortunately for Franklin, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Beals. Beals rushed for 51 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 159 yards and two touchdowns the last time he and the Wildcats duked it out back in September of 2023.
