The Liberty Charter Lions lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Thursday was a bit more commanding. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 64-41 walloping at the hands of High Tech Mesa. Liberty Charter has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Liberty Charter had strong showings from Maximus Gutierrez, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds, and Duke Dengerink, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Gutierrez pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Henry Appelquist, who scored no points along with seven assists and seven steals.
Liberty Charter dropped their record down to 6-16 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for High Tech Mesa, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-17.
Liberty Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. High Tech Mesa also has no future games currently scheduled.
