Baseball Recap: Christian Heritage Academy Wins Going Away Against Roanoke Catholic

Christian Heritage Academy gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victor by a 19-4 margin over the Roanoke Catholic Celtics. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Celtics recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Hunter Manning made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Manning was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Ty Turner was a standout: he scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Jake Bowles was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.

Christian Heritage Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Roanoke Catholic only posted an OBP of .318.

Christian Heritage Academy's record now sits at 2-0. As for Roanoke Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Christian Heritage Academy will take on Roanoke Valley Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Roanoke Catholic, they will challenge Fishburne Military at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Fishburne Military's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
