The Providence Prep Rams entered their tilt with the Sterling Classical Soldiers with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Providence Prep walked away with a 64-52 win over Sterling Classical on Friday. For Providence Prep, this counts as revenge for the 60-55 defeat Sterling Classical walked away with the last time they faced one another on January 2nd.
Providence Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Clark Morrison, who scored 25 points along with six steals and five assists. Morrison hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Asa Jackson, who almost dropped a triple-double on 12 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists.
Providence Prep is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Sterling Classical, they bumped their record down to 6-3 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence Prep will take on Methodist Children's Home at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Sterling Classical, they will head out on the road to face off against Memorial Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Memorial Christian Academy has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 18.
