Boiling Springs managed to slip by Northern York the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bubblers came up short against the Polar Bears on Wednesday, falling 18-3. The Bubblers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Boiling Springs saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Allen, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, Spring Grove lost 12-6 to Dover on Wednesday. The Rockets have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
June Wilt put in work no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Payton Martin made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Mikayla Myers was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Boiling Springs' loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Spring Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-4.
Spring Grove's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Boiling Springs has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. It's a different story for Spring Grove, though, as they've only averaged .316. Will they be able to contain Boiling Springs' hitters?
