The Lucy Beckham Bengals will venture away from home to face off against the Cane Bay Cobras at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Cane Bay will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Lucy Beckham extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Bengals blew past Goose Creek 14-1.
Sam Dielmann looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). He is becoming a predictor of Lucy Beckham's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 6-8 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Lucy Beckham got a massive performance out of Drake Ketchin, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Ketchin a new career-high. Davis Kruse also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Lucy Beckham was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .364 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Cane Bay hadn't done well against Stratford recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Cobras put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 8-2 victory. The Cobras not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27th (when they won 10-2).
Landon Roberts looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Tre' Lawrence and Jason Spurgeon did most of the damage at the plate: Lawrence got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Spurgeon went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Lawrence is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as he's now launched at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Colton Price, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Lucy Beckham's record is now 10-8. As for Cane Bay, their record now sits at 6-12.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lucy Beckham has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Cane Bay struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Lucy Beckham got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Cane Bay by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bengals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
