In what's become a running theme this season, the Notre Dame Titans gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 59-39 margin over Fisher Catholic. The victory was nothing new for Notre Dame as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Notre Dame's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gracie Ashley led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Ashley also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Katie Strickland was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Despite the loss, Fisher Catholic still got an impressive performance from Ellie Bruce, who scored 17 points along with five blocks and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jayda Dixon, who scored 11 points.
Notre Dame pushed their record up to 15-2 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37.9 points. As for Fisher Catholic, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 15-3.
Notre Dame will head out on the road to square off against Clay at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Notre Dame knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Clay likes a good challenge. As for Fisher Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wellington School at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Fisher Catholic: 24.6, Wellington School: 26.4) so any points scored will be well earned.
