Basketball Game Preview: West Point-Beemer Cadets vs. Tekamah-Herman Tigers

West Point-Beemer has gone 10-0 against Tekamah-Herman recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The West Point-Beemer Cadets will venture away from home to face off against the Tekamah-Herman Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

West Point-Beemer is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Schuyler: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that West Point-Beemer blew Schuyler out of the water with a 75-21 final score. The game marked the Cadets' most dominant win of the season.

West Point-Beemer's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Brayden Doggett, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 16 points and seven boards, and Hunter Swanson, who posted ten points and eight assists. Doggett has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Peyton Penrose, who earned ten points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: West Point-Beemer was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, Tekamah-Herman entered their tilt with Madison on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They managed a 55-51 victory over the Dragons.

Tekamah-Herman's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-5. As for West Point-Beemer, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.

West Point-Beemer strolled past Tekamah-Herman in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 73-58. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Point-Beemer since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
