HILLIARD, Ohio - the Wildcats scored 28 points in the first quarter to secure a big 42-14 victory over
Thomas Worthington (Worthington, Ohio) on Saturday.
Hilliard Davidson scored on a touchdown pass by
Ziyad Rasul to
Nick Waters, a Rasul touchdown run, a touchdown run by
D.d. Clark and a
Alex Backenstoe touchdown run in the quarter.
HD was up 35-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Rasul to Waters in the first quarter.
The Hilliard school expanded its lead to 42 points entering the fourth quarter. The Wildcats' lone score in the quarter came on a Clark touchdown run.
With the win Hilliard Davidson extended its winning streak to five games. HD defeated the Patriots 28-7 last week.
Rasul played well for the Wildcats in the victory. The sophomore quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown.
The CARDINALS's
Nick Petrucelli played well. The junior running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.
Hilliard Davidson went into the matchup giving up only 14.8 points per game. Thomas Worthington's 14 points were right around its season average of 16.1 per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 33-0 win for HD.
The loss comes after Thomas Worthington defeated Central Crossing 28-27 last week.
In a Ohio Capital - Central game next week Hilliard Davidson (7-2) takes on Marysville, and Thomas Worthington (2-7) will go up against Olentangy Liberty also in a Ohio Capital - Central game.
