Taylor County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. The Taylor County Bulldogs and the Santa Fe Raiders will round out the year against one another at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Santa Fe took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Taylor County, who comes in off a win.
Even though Taylor County has not done well against Madison County recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way last Saturday. Taylor County walked away with a 48-40 victory over Madison County. Winning is a bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 20% better than the opposition, as Taylor County's was.
Taylor County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Allen Collier led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Trayce Abercrombie, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Santa Fe pushed their score all the way to 64 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 72-64 to Suwannee. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Saturday (63), Santa Fe still had to take the loss.
The win got Taylor County back to even at 4-4. As for Santa Fe, they have fallen quite a ways from their 22-7 record last season and are now at 2-8.
