The City College Black Knights can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Saturday. They breezed by Cliffside Park at home to the tune of 81-42. Winning may never get old, but City College sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Despite the defeat, Cliffside Park saw an underclassman step up: Jerelz Ortiz dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Ortiz is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ken Hunter, who scored nine points.
City College pushed their record up to 7-3 with that win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.8 points per game. As for Cliffside Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
City College will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Dunbar at 5:15 p.m. As for Cliffside Park, they will head out on the road to square off against Dumont at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
