Meanwhile, Newton County Academy entered their tilt with Prentiss Christian with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Newton County Academy put the hurt on Prentiss Christian with a sharp 55-34 win on Friday. Newton County Academy pushed the score to 42-12 by the end of the third, a deficit Prentiss Christian cut but never quite recovered from.
Newton County Academy can attribute much of their success to Hunter Scarbrough, who rushed for 181 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, and Ty Thrash, who rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Thrash was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 64 yards. Jackson Bunyard also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Christian Collegiate Academy to 7-3 and Newton County Academy to 11-1.
