Basketball Recap: Coventry Skates Past Bolton with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Coventry over Bolton in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Coventry Patriots blew the Bolton Bulldogs out of the water with a 56-12 final score. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 34 points or more this season.

Coventry's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Danielle Wheeler led the charge by putting up 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Wheeler a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Mayo, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds.

Coventry smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Coventry's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Bolton, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coventry will head out to challenge Windsor Locks at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Windsor Locks will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Coventry surely won't give up without a fight. Bolton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
