The Cardinal O'Hara Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 80-39 loss at the hands of Canisius. Cardinal O'Hara was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-26.
Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kels Ivey, who scored six points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Canisius to victory, but perhaps none more so than Johnny Esposito, who scored 17 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Esposito has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nick Purdie, who scored 17 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Cardinal O'Hara has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Canisius, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 17-2.
Cardinal O'Hara will be playing at home against Bishop Timon-St. Jude at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bishop Timon-St. Jude has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,601 points over their last 19 contests. As for Canisius, they will face off against Health Sciences Charter at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. Canisius is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
