Taylor is a perfect 10-0 against Madeira since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Yellowjackets will be playing in front of their home fans against the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Taylor is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Finneytown get on the board and left with a 21-0 win on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Yellowjackets with their most commanding win of the season.
Ellie Stafford was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma King, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ady Franke, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Taylor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Madeira made sure to put some runs up on the board against Lockland on Friday. The MUSTANGS/AMAZONS were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over the Panthers. Considering the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Taylor's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Madeira, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record.
Everything went Taylor's way against Madeira when the teams last played on Wednesday, as Taylor made off with a 13-1 win. Will the Yellowjackets repeat their success, or do the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
