Finneytown is on a 14-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Deer Park a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. Finneytown will be playing at home against Deer Park at 5:00 p.m. Finneytown has given up an average of 10.3 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Finneytown fell victim to Reading and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 15-0. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly 15 runs.
Deer Park not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 25, 2024 (when they won 16-1). Everything went their way against Riverview East Academy as they made off with a 14-2 victory.
Blayke Kellerman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Deer Park got a massive performance out of Riley McHugh, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs McHugh has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Michael Goebel, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Deer Park kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Riverview East Academy only managed two hits.
Deer Park's win bumped their record up to 3-15. As for Finneytown, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
