Southern is 3-0 against the Lions since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Southern Rams just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the GVCS Broadfording Lions at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Southern knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully the Lions like a good challenge.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Southern ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They walked away with a 56-49 victory over Keyser.
Isaiah Keller continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points. Another player making a difference was Noah Wilt, who scored 11 points.

GVCS Broadfording can attribute much of their success to Jordan Shifler, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds, and Brandon Monroe, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Monroe continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Camari White, who scored 11 points along with four steals.

This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Southern have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 23 rebounds per game. However, it's not like GVCS Broadfording struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.5 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for Southern against the Lions in their previous matchup last Monday as the squad secured a 81-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southern since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
