Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Armando Saenz and Jonathan Henderson Lead Memphis to Victory

While Memphis didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Shamrock Irish with a sharp 66-45 victory on Tuesday. The Cyclones have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 21 points or more this season.

Memphis was led to victory by Jonathan Henderson and Armando Saenz. Henderson posted ten points in addition to seven boards and five assists, while Saenz went 6 of 9 on his way to 15 points. The contest was Saenz's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Martin, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

Shamrock's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jeff Rollerson, who had 22 points, and Josh Whittington, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Rollerson is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 22 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kyle Ishee, who posted four points and 18 rebounds.

Memphis pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Shamrock, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
