Softball Recap: Chillicothe Wins Going Away Against Westfall

Chillicothe's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Westfall Mustangs as they made off with a 9-2 win. Considering the Cavaliers have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Brianna Cousins was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Cadie Boltenhouse, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Chillicothe hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in five consecutive contests.

Chillicothe is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That lines up perfectly with their 15-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Westfall, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chillicothe will take on Logan Elm at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westfall, they will challenge Southeastern at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
