The Orleans Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 24 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 55-30 margin over Perry Central. Given Orleans' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while Perry Central is ranked 312th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Orleans' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mylie Knight, who scored ten points along with nine steals and seven assists. Those nine steals set a new season-high mark for her. Chelsea Ralph was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Orleans pushed their record up to 11-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Perry Central, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Orleans will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on New Washington at 11:00 a.m. on December 28th. Perry Central will be home for the holidays to greet Tell City at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Tell City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday.
