The Brookville Bees lost against the Liberty Minutemen back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Brookville fell 40-31 to Liberty. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Brookville in their matchups with Liberty: they've now lost seven in a row.
Liberty's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shania Brown, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. Brown is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Annabelle Whorley was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Brookville's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.0 points per game. As for Liberty, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Brookville will be playing in front of their home fans against Glass at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glass presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Brookville in Virginia (Glass is ranked 103rd, while Brookville is ranked 220th). As for Liberty, they will head out on the road to face off against Jefferson Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson Forest will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
