Baseball Game Preview: Great Falls Red Devils vs. Lewisville Lions

Great Falls is 0-10 against Lewisville since April of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Red Devils will look to defend their home field against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Great Falls' pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Midlands STEM Charter as they made off with a 15-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Red Devils, who have now won three matches in a row.

Great Falls got a massive performance out of Trenton Trotter, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. The Red Devils are undefeated when Trotter posts two or more runs, but 2-6 otherwise. Jayden Brown was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-2.

Great Falls hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Lewisville gave up the first runs last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on North Central with a sharp 8-1 win. The victory was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on four straight.

Great Falls' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Lewisville, their win bumped their record up to 15-4.

Great Falls might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from Lewisville when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
