Cranston West is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: St. Raphael Academy, who was ranked eighth at the time (Cranston West was ranked fifth). The Falcons fell just short of the Saints by a score of 2-1 on Sunday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Falcons couldn't push the score so high this time.

On the hitting side, Cranston West saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Baffoni, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Baffoni has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Pilgrim's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of La Salle Academy by a score of 7-6.
Pilgrim got a massive performance out of Genna D'Amato, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Madison Tuirok, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Pilgrim's defeat dropped their record down to 15-2. As for Cranston West, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Cranston West hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Pilgrim struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
